Most people have heard of affiliate marketing, but those that haven’t always wonder – why is it so profitable? You’ve read the stories of people making millions of dollars a year, from home, doing little to no work and I realize that is somewhat shocking. The fact of the matter is the Internet exploded the “advertising” business. Most all companies are profiting from “advertising” not selling products. As an affiliate marketer you are actually profiting from “advertising” on the Internet. You will begin advertising another company’s products and services and they pay you a commission for the sales, leads, or conversions you generate. Affiliate marketers are just following the same path everyone else (that’s become wealthy from the Internet) has followed. Money is in advertising and affiliate marketing allows you to advertise for companies with huge budgets which increases the amount of money you can make online. 

Basically this type of business is just the best way to make money online hands down. We’ve never seen anyone with little experience really make money doing other things like eBay and retail online. Affiliate marketing, however, we’ve seen change the lives of many people who had very little knowledge about the Internet. Now is the best time to get started in the affiliate marketing industry because many companies are pouring more money into their affiliate marketing budget than their TV commercial budget simply because it just makes more sense.

As with anything else you do the potential to fail is certainly there in affiliate marketing. There are thousands of affiliates that never generate the first penny online. That is why it’s important to educate yourself beyond the norm. Read books, watch DVD’s, read blogs and learn as much as you can about the industry. Education is the key to success in any industry and affiliate marketing certainly isn’t the exception to the rule.
