But if you screw it up and don’t know how to make your keywords profitable, you can lose every penny you have in the process.

#1. Not Researching Your Market Before Bidding On Keywords
Your market are the people who will be clicking on your ads. People are not online to buy stuff, they are online to find solutions. What are the problems in your market that people would be looking for online?
When you figure out the problems, the keywords will be easy.
Too many times people bid on the product name or the name of the web site. What good does that do if no one is searching for that product or website online.
#2. Not Watching Your Competitors In Your Market
What are your competitors doing? Are you watching them? You should watch the ads that they are running, which keywords they are bidding on an how long to continue the campaign.
Many times you’ll see competitors switching ads or bidding on many different keywords. The problem with this is that you are not sure which keywords are making them sales. Sometimes you have to sit back and watch a few months or use a tool like spyfu to figure out which keywords are making your competitors money.
#3. Bidding On Too Many Keywords At The Beginning
Go deep, then wide. If you find a keyword that is converting for you, then focus on that one keywords and variations of that keyword. Exploit the full dimension of the keyword. Ask yourself is this a buying keyword? If I were search for this keyword what would my mindset be? I am searching for Info or would I have my credit card to buy something now.
Once you feel you have maximized that keyword and the earning pre click then move on to other keywords.
By doing a little market research, watching your competitors an and finishing one niche keyword group before moving on to an other keyword group, you will in sure a profitable advertising campaign.
